When getting relief fast is important.

Intensive EMDR essentially is having longer sessions over a shorter period of time in order to get symptom relief faster. Rather than longer term traditional once a week sessions for 55 minutes, we meet more often for a minimum of 90 minutes. For some, ‘ripping off the band-aid’ so to speak feels more their style rather than slowly working through uncomfortable feelings week after week. Clients that prefer to work intensively tend to have tried other approaches of therapy that have not been as helpful as they’d like and they’re ready to deal with the tough stuff already, knowing they have the skills and resources to do so.

Whether working intensively as an adjunct client that has a primary therapist, or you’re interested in a specific start and stop date with an Intensive package, part of trauma-informed care is having choices!

Customizable EMDR Intensive Packages

EMDR Intensives are ideal if there is a specific incident from your childhood or even recently that is impacting your present. Or, if you already have a primary non-EMDR therapist and after doing work around resourcing and generally managing uncomfortable feelings well, you still feel stuck around certain memories, behaviors, or overall themes.

The EMDR intensive model:

-Reduces time away from work and life by completing sessions in a timelier manner.

-Saves overall financial investment often decreasing the need for ongoing therapy longer term.

After a pre-screener is completed to explore appropriate fit, the initial online consultation is scheduled to further explore if an intensive is right for you. The intensive format structure tends to be:

-90 Minute pre-intensive session

-3 Hour processing session (or more or less)

-90 Minute post-intensive session

Together we determine when these sessions are scheduled, based on your individual needs, and discuss if any follow up services are warranted.

Customizable Intensive Package Options start at $2,000, including a total of 6 direct contact hours together, and an EMDR workbook. Additional hours can be purchased for half day, full day, or multiple days.

EMDR intensives are not covered by insurance, and I am considered an out of network provider. The FAQS page can provide more information.

**Working intensively is not a good fit for all and more than one intensive may be needed, depending on your treatment goals. Individuals with more complex trauma histories may be considered for longer intensives IF a primary therapist is involved for continued local support, and a release is signed to coordinate care, making this adjunct EMDR.
